June marks the official beginning of the summer season. Summer means beautiful weather and amazing getaways. Summer is a great time to rest and relax but not everyone can always get way for a vacation. It is important to find ways to create “little” getaways and celebrate the summer.

Finding little adventures can be a great way to make the most of your summer. A day trip is a great way to find some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Whether it be a hiking trip to see some beautiful scenery or a “Treat Yourself” themed shopping day, make sure to be fully present in the day. From museum trips to beach days, do your best to leave the stress at home and enjoy your day away.

Between day trips, taking in the little moments of summer are a great way to find some peace and gratitude during the day. Spending some time outside to read a book or go for a walk can be great ways to enjoy the summer and soak up some vitamin D. Getting some sunshine everyday is a great way to increase serotonin levels and feel a little bit better every day.

“Keep your face to the sunshine and you will never see the shadows.” Hellen Keller

The most important thing to remember is that no matter how big or small the getaway, taking time for yourself is crucial. Make it a point to let summer be a time of rest and relaxation, even if it’s only for a few moments each day.
