May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so this month we want to take some time to take note of this important month. Mental health isn’t always talked about or highlighted but we want to make sure that people know that they are not alone. Each week this month on our Instagram and Twitter we want to highlight quotes and tips about mental health.
This weeks Founders Thoughts Quote was, “Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step” from Mariska Hargitay. Whatever you have been through can take a toll on you and healing isn’t always a fast process. Healing also isn’t linear. Sometimes, you think that something doesn’t bother you anymore but then it creeps up again. It is okay to take you time to deal with issues as they come. It is okay to need time to deal with things that you thought you had already healed from.
It is also important to note that sometimes we need to ask for help. Sometimes, when we struggle, we don’t want to ask for help because it can be scary admitting that we need help or we think that it makes us look weak. Just because we struggle, doesn’t make us weak. Asking for help can be difficult but it can also help to strengthen yourself and help you to heal faster. It can also help to strengthen that relationship.
